Welcome to the official site of the Incomparable Iota Chi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. On behalf of the members of this chapter, I would like to extend a sincere thank you for visiting our website.
For almost 20 years, this Chapter of phenomenal women has had a presence in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Sigma Gamma Rho has been a change agent for over 100 years, and we are dedicated to continuing our legacy.
We hope that this website gives a rich and valuable source of information to learn more about our chapter. We are focused on continuing our path to greater as well as being a force in our community through service, scholarship, and sisterhood. Please feel free to check out our local community service projects, programs, as well as fundraisers designed to aid our ability to provide scholarship opportunities to further the education of the youth.

About Our Chapter
It was on May 14, 2005, that the incomparable Iota Chi Sigma was chartered by Andrea Barge, Pertrinea Cash Deedon, Erica Garcia, Chandira Jenkins, Paula Rice, Cynthia Roque, Pamela Washington, and Terri Williams. Iota Chi Sigma was honored with a recognition award at the 2007 William E. Edwards-Academic College Tour (WEE-ACT) reception for its association in the guidance provided to college-bound youth.
Mission
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development, and education of youth are the hallmarks of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically.

We visualize a world in which all women and their families reach their full potential in all aspects of life and are able to create unlimited opportunities for future generations.

Where Sisterhood Meets Service
The Iota Chi Sigma Chapter is committed to serving our community through impactful programs and initiatives. Funds raised throughout the year support our local efforts and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.'s national initiatives, including Operation BigBookBag, Women's Wellness, Swim 1922, Project Cradle Care, and the Youth Symposium.

New members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. are accepted on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Potential graduate members must hold a degree from a four-year accredited educational institution. A woman may be admitted for membership in an undergraduate chapter only while in attendance at a four-year accredited college or university, or in a liberal arts/transfer program of a junior or community college, once they submit proof of intention to enter and obtain a degree from a four-year school.
Candidates may be accepted for undergraduate membership after successfully completing one quarter, semester, or trimester. The cumulative grade point average required for membership is 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
